Director Tecnico Internacional : Anthony Hudson

Anthony Hudson es un entrenador de fútbol internacional joven, humilde, pero ambicioso.Quien ha estado alrededor del  fútbol toda su vida, hijo del ex jugador de Chelsea y estrella de Inglaterra Alan Hudson , él comenzó su carrera en el West Ham United bajo Tony Carry y Harry Redknapp. Firmando como un YTS y jugando para un equipo de academia famoso y exitoso que incluia a Micheal Carrick, Joe Cole, Frank Lampard y Rio Ferdinand. Jugó  cedido en Luton Town FC bajo Direcrtor Tecnico Lenny Lawrence. Luego, se trasladó a Holanda, firmando  profesionalmente  para el  equipo de  1ra división holandés NEC Nijmegen bajo el Director Tecnico Jimmy Calderwood.
Su interés se dirigió a entrenar cuando llegó a los EE.UU. y fue jugador y asistente entrenador de los Wilmington Hammerheads de la liga USL.

 Posteriormente, asumió el cargo de Director Tecnico del  Real Maryland FC que estaban en la cola de la liga cuando ingresó  llevandolos a  las eliminatorias del 2008. Esto le ganó una nominación al mejor Direcrtor Tecnico del año.

 Sosteniendo la prestigiosa  licencia  UEFA “A” y después de haber estudiado con la Asociación de Fútbol Inglesa, convirtiendose  a los 25 años en el director tecnico  de fútbol más joven en los Estados Unidos.

En 2010, regresó al Reino Unido y comenzó a entrenar bajo la tutoría de Harry Redknapp en el Tottenham Hotspurs. En 2011 fue nombrado entrenador del Condado de Newport. Redknap explicó que él cree que Hudson tiene algo especial en él,  proporcionandole la gran referencia como “el nuevo José Mourinho”

<Estos jovenes entrenadores tienen mucho entusiasmo,  tienen ganas verdaderas y quieren trabajar y ganar arriba de todo y Mourinho era asi> dijo.

<”quería ser Director Tecnico  y Anthony es lo mismo, tiene esa pasión que no se puede enseñar a la gente. El es un trabajador, que posee el conocimiento, y determinación de ponerse a la cima y pienso que él lo conseguira>.

Hudson  esta bien relacionado con una lista de referencias que incluyen a Harry Redknapp, fue invitado por Sir Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho y Brendan Rodgers para pasar el tiempo con ellos mientras tomaba su licencia de Pro como Director Tecnico -.

En marzo de 2012 Hudson fue designado como  Director Tecnico del equipo de Bahrein  Sub- 23

LP¿Qué tan importante es para un entrenador de pagar sus deudas como asistente y que ha sido entrenado por  Directores Tecnicos con experiencia antes de que él se haga cargo como Director Tecnico?

AH.Creo que es muy importante. La mayor parte del tiempo  como asistente  uno  aprende cosas  sin darse cuenta, y  sólo lo ves cuando estas en aquellas posiciones  por ti mismo mismo  mas adelante. Pero es muy importante  buscar  tu educación. Para ver y aprender de  varios  Directores Tecnicos  y entrenadores, com sea possible.  Muchos estilos y filosofias, y tratar de  utilizar lo que funciona para ti. Pero lo mas importante es ser uno mismo.

LP. En contraste con el modelo europeo, el desarrollo de jugadores en Estados Unidos en general se ha basado en el sistema universitario. ¿Te gusta y crees que sea vital para los jugadores  obtener una educación, sobre todo considerando los salarios Corrientes en el fútbol profesional en Estados Unidos y por supuesto los años limitados que componen una carrera profesional?

AH. Creo que la educación es muy importante. Pero también creo que si alguien quiere convertirse en un jugador profesional superior,  tiene que jugar y desarrollarse al ritmo que se están desarrollando los mejores jugadores. Lo que significa, que necesita jugar más juegos de calidad e intensidad.Exigiendo  entrenamiento mas amenudo y una educacion de futbol mas detallado.  Que jugadores obtienen esto en la Universidad? > No sé y no lo creo. La temporada es muy corta y el estilo de vida que está diseñado para un jugador de la universidad es muy diferente a uno que  estaria en una academia europea.  El  ambiente alli está establecido donde se aprende  responsabilidad, trabajo duro y la disciplina necesaria para hacerle frente al fútbol moderno del más alto nivel. Así como más juegos contra los mejores competidores.  Todo depende de la persona, si él quiere jugar en grandes estadios al más alto nivel, entonces hay un camino determinado, si se trata de la vida universitaria y la MLS como  objetivo, entonces eso es un camino diferente. Pero la educación es crucial a lo largo dell camino.

LP.¿Reclutas alguna vez  a jugadores? ¿Qué cualidades buscas en términos de  jugadores que quieres que  jueguen para un equipo.

AH. La actitud es número uno. A menos que sea un jugador es excepcional y merece la pena el “dolor de cabeza  entonces no tiene sentido, Solo tomaria del equipo en lugar de dar al equipo. Dedicacion , diciplina, que juegue en equipo, positivo,buena disposicion son las cosas que busco.  Abilidad, inteligencia, velocidad, capacidad tecnica e inteligencia de juego.

LP. ¿Considerando sus  experiencias viviendo y haber estado involucrado en el juego tanto  en el extranjero como en los EE.UU, ve usted alguna diferencia inherente entre jugadores en el extranjero y jugadores americanos?

AHSí. Mentalmente creo que los jugadores en los EE.UU. no son fuertes como los jugadores en Europa Esta es una declaración en general, por supuesto, que hay  jugadores que han ido a Europa y lo han  hecho muy,bien pero éstos son pocos y distantes entre sí. Tal vez esto es porque el fútbol es un  deporte de  la clase media alta en Estados Unidos, donde la mentalidad suele ser suave. La vida muy agradable, buen coche, la familia tiene dinero, videojuegos etc. mientras que en otras partes del mundo es en gran medida es el deporte de la clase humilde y trabajadora, donde esto se convierte en el sustento y  vida de la gente No hay opción al fracaso, ya que no hay lugar a donde ir, el fútbol, es el único boleto.

Esta es la mentalidad contra la que se compite. He visto a demasiados jugadores en partidos tomar  la opción fácil ya que no les importa tanto. Suben a su  bonito coche despues del juego para luego ir a la casa de playa de la familia por el fin de semana. Esa mentalidad es demasiado cerrada y no iran a ninguna parte.

LP.Cual es su idea del partido perfecto?

AH. Ganar bien, haciendo y pidiendo al equipo que hagan todas las cosas correctas , y a los jugadores que esten en su mejoir nivel.

LP.Como  describirías tu filosofía y estilo de fútbol?

AH. Mi filosofía está cambiando constantemente, pero la base siempre es creativa pero con disciplina, trabajadora, organizada y positiva.

LP ¿Cuál es su mayor reto como entrenador?

  AH. Ganar
LP ¿Qué se necesita para ser un buen entrenador?
Estudiar, trabajo duro,  contactos, desarrollo constant.

LP. Quien es tu Director Tecnico favorito?

AH. Marcelo Bielsa – de Athletic de Bilbao. Gran Director Tecnico, gran filosofía, estudiante del juego y un ganador

AH. Athletico de Bilbao

LP ¿Qué equipo le gustaría entrenar en algún momento de su carrera?

AH. Uno de los mejores equipos de Europa, compitiendo en la Liga de Campeones y ganar títulos

LP.  Habla algo de español …. ¿Considerarías entrenar a un equipo hispano / latino? 

AH.100% Eso sería un sueño. Esa es la razon principal por  la cual empecé a aprender el idioma

LP. Si tuviera que elegir como Director Tecnicor Entre un lugar con mala economía, que  afectaria tu sueldo, pero con buenos jugadores o un lugar con buena economía pero con jugadores mediocres?.

 AH. Un lugar donde tenga la mejor oportunidad de ganar, por lo que sería con los  mejores jugadores.

LP. Actualmente te  encuentras como Director Tecnico de un equipo olímpico …. ¿cuáles son las expectativas y deseos para  esté equipo ?.

AH. Mi trabajo principal es desarrollar jugadores de todo el equipo nacional dirigido por Pedro Taylo, quien ha administrado en la Premier League. Y a lo largo del camino, el objetivo es calificar para la AFC, los campeonatos de fútbol asiático (igual que los campeonatos de Europa) este próximo junio.

LP¿Existen desafíos con tu equipo actual?
AH. El primero es el idioma  y el  utilizar un traductor que es una experiencia nueva. La liga nacional y la cultura es muy diferente de forma que me ha tomado  tiempo para adaptarme. Pero en general, tenemos un grupo de jovenes  jugadores  dispuestos,  que quieren hacer las cosas bien para ellos mismos y su pais.ais que debera ser una experiencia muy positive para todos.

International soccer Coach: Anthony Hudson

Anthony Hudson is a young, humble yet ambitious international soccer coach. Being around soccer his whole life, son of a former Chelsea and England Star, Alan Hudson, he started his career at West ham United under Tony Carry and Harry Redknapp. Signing as a YTS and playing for a famous and successful academy team which included Micheal Carrick, Joe Cole, Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand.

He played on loan at Luton Town FC under manager Lenny Lawrence. Then, moved to Holland, signing professional terms for Dutch 1st division team NEC Nijmegen under the now  Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwwod.

His interest turned to coaching as he came to the US and was player/assistant head coach for the Wilmington Hammerheads of the United Soccer League (USL).

 Afterwards, he took over Real Maryland FC (USL) who were at the bottom of the league when he entered and lead them to the 2008 playoffs. This earned him a nomination for coach of the year.

Holding a UEFA’A’ license and having studied with the English football association, he has become the youngest soccer head coach in the states at 25. In 2010, he returned to the UK and began coaching under Harry Redknapp at Tottenham Hotspurs. In 2011 he was Appointed manager of Newport County.

Redknap  explained that he thinks Hudson has something special about him, providing a great reference as “the new Jose Mourinho”

< these young fellas in management have so much enthusiasm, they have a real zest and want to work and win at the top and Mourinho was like that,”> he said.

“He wanted to be a manager and Anthony is the same, he has that enthusiasm that you can’t teach to people. He’s a grafter, he has the knowledge, the determination to get to the top and I think he will get there.”

Hudson is well connected With the list of references –that  includes Harry Redknapp, invited by Sir Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho and Brendan Rodgers to spend time with them while taking his Pro coaching licence.

In March 2012 Hudson was appointed manager of the Bahrain Under 23 team

LP How important is it for a coach to pay his dues as an assistant that have been mentored under experienced head coaches before he takes over as a head coach?

AH – I think it’s very important. A lot of the time you learn things without realizing it as an assistant and you only see it when you are in those positions further down the line. But it’s very important to go and seek out your education as well. To see and learn from as many different managers/coaches as possible. Many different styles and philosophies. And you try and use what works for you but most importantly you have to be yourself.

LP. In contrast to the European model, player development in USA has generally been based on the college system. Do you like it  and do you think its vital for players to get an education, especially given the current salaries in professional soccer in USA and of course the limited years that make up a professional playing career?

AH. I think education is very important. But I also think if someone wants to become a top professional player, he has to be playing and developing at the rate that the best players are developing. Which means, they need to be playing more games of quality and intensity. Demanding training more often and more detailed football education. Do players get that at college? I don’t know and I don’t think so. The season is very short and lifestyle that’s designed for a college player is very different to one that may be in a European academy. The environment there is set up where you learn responsibility, hard work and the discipline needed to cope with modern football at the highest level. As well as more games against the best competition. It all depends on the individual, if he wants to play in big arenas at the highest level then there’s a certain path, if it’s college life and MLS as the target, then that’s a different path as well. But education is crucial along the way.

LP..Do you ever recruit players? What qualities do you look for in terms of the players that you want playing for a team?

AH. Attitude is number one. Unless a player is exceptional and worth the ‘head ache’ then there’s no point, they’ll only take from the team as oppose to give to the team. Hard work, discipline, team player, willingness, positive are the things I look for. Ability wise, speed, technical ability, game intelligence.

LP. Given your experiences living and being involved in the game in both abroad and the US, do you see any inherent difference between players overseas and american players?

AH. Yes. Mentally i believe players in the US are not strong as players in Europe. This is a very general statement and the are of course players that have gone to Europe and done very well but these are few and far between. Maybe this is because football is a middle to upper class sport in the us, where the mentality can be soft. Life’s too good, nice car, big house, family have money, computer games etc. whereas in other parts of the world it is very much a lower to working class sport where this becomes people’s lives and livelihood. It’s not an option to fail as there is nowhere else to go, football, is there one and only ticket. This is the mentality you are competing against. I’ve seen far too many players in games take the easy option out because it doesn’t matter that much. There going to jump in there nice car after the game and be at the families beach house for the weekend. That mentality is too sort and won’t go anywhere.

LP. What is your idea of the perfect game?

AH. Winning well, by doing all the things right that your asking the team to do and the players to be at there very best.

LP.How would you describe your philosophy/style of soccer?

AH. My philosphy is constantly changing but the base is always creative but with discipline. Hard working, organized and positive.

LP. What is your greatest challenge as a coach?

AH. Winning

LP. What does it take to be a good coach?

AH. Study, hard work, contacts, constantly developing.

AH. Marcelo Bielsa – Athletic Bilbao. Great coach, great philosophy, student of the game and a winner.

LP. Who is your favorite professional soccer team?

AH. Athletic Bilbao

LP.What team would you like to coach at some point in your career?

AH. One of the top teams in Europe, competing in the champions league and winning titles.

LP.You speak some Spanish….Would you ever consider coaching a hispanic/latin team?

AH. 100% – that would be a dream. That’s the main reason I started learning the language.

LP. Where would you rather coach? A place with a bad economy, which would affect your pay, but with good players… or a place with a good economy and mediocre players.

HD. A place where you have the best chance of winning, so that would be with the best players.

LP. You’re currently coaching an Olympic team… what are you’re expectations/desires for you’re current team?

AH. My main job is to develop players for the full national team coached by peter taylo, who has manged in the premier league. And along the way, the objective is to qualify for the AFCs, the Asian football championships (same as the European championships) this coming June.

LP. Are there any challenges with your current team?

AH. Language is the first and I use a translator which is a new experience. The domestic league and the culture is very different so that has taken time to adjust to. But all in all, we have a very young and willing group of players that want to do well for themselves and their country so it should be a very positive experience all round.
